Both organizations recognize the benefits of a collaborative partnership that focuses on the collective interests of our school districts.  We will be providing educators from across the Commonwealth and New England with exciting ways to enhance teaching and learning with technology.

Increase Opportunities with Online Advanced Placement Courses

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Providing students with access to high-quality, online Advanced Placement courses is a reasonable way to solve scheduling problems and meet diverse student interests in an affordable way. Participants in this session will learn about AP® offerings provided by The Virtual High School, a Massachusetts based, non-profit course provider that has been meeting the needs of schools and students for the past 20 years. A variety of implementation strategies will be discussed, demonstrating the flexibility of our program and explaining how traditional and customized offerings can solve scheduling or budget issues.

The session will showcase general pedagogical strategies used in VHS courses, will provide a snapshot of MA student participation and success, and will include lesson demonstrations to highlight the rigor in VHS AP® courses. This presentation will include examples of AP® science lessons as well, to address how VHS has met the hands-on lab requirement with customized lab kits. There will be frequent opportunities for questions and discussion throughout the presentation.
