We are pleased to announce the MassCUE and M.A.S.S. 2016 Annual Technology Conference, co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Computer Using Educators (MassCUE) and the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents (M.A.S.S.). Both organizations recognize the benefits of a collaborative partnership that focuses on the collective interests of our school districts. We will be providing educators from across the Commonwealth and New England with exciting ways to enhance teaching and learning with technology.
Flexible time during the school day allows students to take greater responsibility for their learning and to personalize their learning choices. While an increasing number of schools and school districts around the country are adopting a flex block model, the essential conditions that need to be in place to make it successful are less well understood. Some of these preconditions are: a solidly student-centered learning approach; invested teachers who engage students in interventions and inspire deeper learning; and an administrative perspective that favors long-term student outcomes over short-term standardized test gains. Perhaps the most important precondition for the flexible time block is the logistical support that is provided by an intuitive SaaS, such as Enriching Students, which allows teachers and students to easily and flexibly manage the options that vary on a weekly, if not daily basis. Learn from ConVal High School, the originators of the TASC model, how personalized learning can be successfully implemented and managed at the secondary level.
