We are pleased to announce the MassCUE and M.A.S.S. 2016 Annual Technology Conference, co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Computer Using Educators (MassCUE) and the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents (M.A.S.S.). Both organizations recognize the benefits of a collaborative partnership that focuses on the collective interests of our school districts.  We will be providing educators from across the Commonwealth and New England with exciting ways to enhance teaching and learning with technology.

Bad People Want Your Students' Data

Data security breaches used to be what happened in “other” industries and “Corporate America.” Large companies have improved their network security in the wake of many high profile and costly data breaches. As a result, hackers have shifted some of their focus to softer targets, like schools and municipalities. The burgeoning BYOD (bring your own device) environment has introduced personal smartphones and tablets to the mix, heralding a new set of security challenges that many school districts aren’t prepared for.
Student data is especially attractive to thieves because of their value. Stolen student information is worth more, per record, than stolen credit card information.
As a result, identity theft of underage victims is on the rise. At this session we’ll explain how hackers are gaining access to your network, the rise of student identity theft, how to protect your school and students, and how to enable visibility across the entire attack continuum while mitigating the risk of a security breach.
