We are pleased to announce the MassCUE and M.A.S.S. 2016 Annual Technology Conference, co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Computer Using Educators (MassCUE) and the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents (M.A.S.S.). Both organizations recognize the benefits of a collaborative partnership that focuses on the collective interests of our school districts.  We will be providing educators from across the Commonwealth and New England with exciting ways to enhance teaching and learning with technology.

Out of Time: Tech Hacks for Accessible Learning

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Imagine an environment where if you knew one technology, you knew them all. Reality check: educational technologies all work very differently. There’s also a good chance that the technologies that you do know will need you to refresh or relearn how to use them within a year’s time. It’s not surprising that you feel stretched, especially when learning and teaching students how to use assistive technology is just part of what you do. If looking ahead—or even at today—makes your head spin, join Elizabeth and Cami. They’ll share tech hacks for educators who are out of time!

As an AT Professional and SLP-A with the Brockton Public Schools, Elizabeth Maga has become a master at turning any device that she’s presented with into a learning tool. She’ll share the assistive technology resources and the model she uses to provide access to curricula and promote literacy success within a large urban school district—using whatever technology students have available to them. As a member of the Kurzweil Education team, Cami Griffith works with large school districts (including Elizabeth’s), small schools, and everything in between. She’ll review top issues educators have presented to her, and how they addressed them using k3000.

Do not attend this session if you want to learn everything there is to know about every technology, that is not our goal. You will learn a few simple tricks, or tech hacks, that will prepare you for the day-to-day challenges of technology and learning both in and outside of the classroom.
